|Space||Master bedroom, Kids room|
The open shelving unit in the middle of the wardrobe in the master bedroom is a real asset for the room. Personal belongings can add personality and interest to a room and this is the perfect place to showcase them.
The All White (Farrow & Ball) colour is very fresh and clean. It is a soft sympathetic white as it does not have cold blue undertones in it. The colour choice helps the room become a comforting and soothing space. We all live such hectic lives our bedroom needs to be a tranquil and peaceful retreat. This is especially important for children who are easily excited, muted colours help keep them calm.
For the child’s room our fitted wardrobe is an excellent choice as clothes and most importantly toys and belongings can be stored out of sight. A child will find it harder to drift off to sleep if they are surrounded by all their exciting toys. Tidying everything out of sight means they won’t be distracted from nodding off to sleep, looking for something fun to play with instead. The quality of a child’s sleep can really impact their development so its important that their bedroom facilitates sleep.
The dark flooring, light grey walls and rugs add warmth to the room. As the client went for a warmer white its not such an issue but all these strategies help make a room feel cosy and inviting. In both bedrooms there is a mirror inside the door panel. It seems a safer option in a children’s room rather than having mirrored panels on the outside. It is useful having access to a mirror, so you can check your chosen outfit before heading to work or school.
As children’s clothes are smaller not much hanging space is needed. As a result, three shelves can fit below, this suits the child’s needs better.
