Sprayed fitted cupboards, Bromley
Tempo lacquered wardrobes with integrated handles
Project details
Current wardrobe was installed for one of our customers in Bromley, BR1. The have decided to go with a “frame” effect around the wardrobe. The doors are spray painted in “All white” from Farrow and Ball. Woodgrain material was used for the carcass and open shelves.
With shelves, drawers and hanging space incorporated into one piece of appealing bespoke furniture the reminder of the room can comfortably accommodate the bed and still have lots of empty space. Less furniture is a technique that will make any room seem bigger than it is.
Alongside the custom-made wardrobe the illusion of space continues with the choice of light-coloured paint for the walls. The wardrobe doors also seem to stretch further back as your eyes are cleverly drawn to the frame outline. This all helps transform a smaller room into a comfortable and spacious haven that is very inviting. Other design tricks the client could have used include painting the skirting a lighter colour than the walls and adding a mirror to the room to reflect light.
The chosen wardrobe is very contemporary, the rich colour of the frame and shelves add warmth to the room and is an attractive contrast to the pure white spray-painted doors. White is a great colour to use as it reflects light, but “All white” from Farrow and Ball is a soft white, as the title suggests it only has white in the colour so it doesn’t have the colder blue hints you would find in a brilliant white. This means the chosen colour is not as cold as other whites. The room is still modern and clean but not clinical. It is also cosy as the client has used a carpet instead of wooden flooring.
The internal configuration of the wardrobe leaves amble space to keep the bedroom clutter to a minimum whilst the shelves in the middle of the wardrobe are an interesting focal point for the bedroom. They allow the client the option to showcase a few of their favourite things, adding personality and colour to the room with the chance to be creative with their belongings.
