Built in Quarto range sliding wardrobe, Beckenham
Floating German made sliding doors system, Sprayed mirrored doors with integrated handles
Project details
Quarto range wardrobe with two mirrored doors in front and two framed MDF doors on both sides. Floor-to-ceiling German made profileless sliding system and made-to-measure carcass which can be produced from one of our 100’s available wood colours.
Having sliding doors is an excellent choice here, hinged doors would have opened into the room and reduced the available floor space. When you have a smaller room, you want to maximise space at every opportunity. Having the drawers, shelves and hanging space tucked away in our bespoke built in wardrobe means the remainder of the room can comfortably hold the bed, a lamp and a picture or two leaving the place looking organised and clutter free.
Keeping it simple is the best strategy to follow, we all like our possessions but having everything on display can soon ruin the serene feeling you need when it’s time to go to sleep. You will have too many distractions.
The light colour on the walls keeps the room looking bright and airy, it’s very fresh and clean. It also reflects the light much like the mirror in the wardrobes. The mirror makes the room seem larger creating depth by reflecting the room back on itself. When the wardrobe is in use and the mirror shifts to the side it also reflects more light from the window.
Darker colours would have made the room seem smaller and more cramped than it is. As seen in the picture it’s also a good idea to paint the skirting a lighter shade to the walls, this again enhances the overall feeling of room. With the right furniture and choice of paint any bedroom can suddenly feel much more spacious.
The room has quite neutral walls but the flooring adds warmth and makes for an interesting contrast. The chosen wardrobe leaves the client with complete flexibility to make the reminder of the room as bold or as peaceful as they so desire. They can just experiment with different soft furnishings and prints to find the theme that suits their needs best.
